Ken Gordon, BA, LL.B. - Founder & President

Ken began his career as an associate lawyer with the law firm Heenan Blaikie LLP in 1989, where he specialized in corporate/commercial law, primarily focused on tax and entertainment syndications involving film and television productions.

After co-founding Trilogy Capital Corporation in 1992, in 1996, Ken founded EquiGenesis Corporation as principal. By 1999, he had participated in more than 35 film and television investment syndications and had raised approximately $600 million.

Ken became a partner of Sentinel Hill Ventures Corporation in 1999, which then formed a joint venture with Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. in 2000 to become the largest private promoter of media-related structured finance products in Canada. From 1998 to 2001, the Sentinel Hill group of companies successfully completed transactions involving almost $4 billion of film production, representing production services for well over 200 feature films and television productions.

Since 2003, EquiGenesis has raised approximately $735 million in private placement limited partnership offerings from private investors, and, in addition, has generated $205 million in contributions to Canadian non-profit organizations and charities. Ken received a B.A. from Dalhousie University in 1985 and an LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 1988.

Cori Simms, B.Comm. - VP, Marketing

Cori joined EquiGenesis in the spring of 2000 as VP, Marketing, and is directly responsible for marketing and communications with EquiGenesis clients. She is involved in many aspects of EquiGenesis' business, including the creation of new offerings, where she frequently acts as liaison between clients and senior management.

Prior to joining EquiGenesis, Cori was employed by IBM Canada for 13 years, where she enjoyed a successful marketing career in the computer systems division in a number of management roles. Cori received a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and has completed the Ontario Securities Course.

Allison Weiss, BA, LL.B. - Business and Legal Affairs

Allison represents numerous clients in the areas of corporate commercial, tax, entertainment and banking law. She has acted for production companies, artists, financiers and distributors and has provided business and legal advice on various matters pertaining to television and film production, financing, distribution, copyright, insurance and risk management. Allison obtained her law degree from the University of Manitoba and completed her articles at Goodmans LLP in Toronto. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003.

Allison is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and Canadian Bar Association and sits on the Board of Directors of The Female Eye Film Festival and the Toronto Jewish Film Festival
